It may not be the most versatile tool in the kitchen, but there is a ton of stuff you can do with your food processor to reduce or eliminate the requirement for hand chopping, mincing, crushing, dicing, whatever. The options are almost limitless, but it can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to decide what to do first. I wanted to give you a list of all the amazing things you can do with your processor so you have a better idea of how to use the different tools. This is by no means a complete list, however, and you can discover a whole bunch of other options by being inventive, trying things out, or checking out your favorite food blog.

Some Of The Choices

With your food processor, you can use all the different attachments to get so much different kitchen stuff done.

Use S-blade for crustFor starters, you can turn something big into something small. If you want to make a homogenous mixture like hummus, or are getting ready to make a graham cracker crust for your cheesecake, you can use the S-blade to turn the chickpeas or cookies into fragments of their former selves. If you run the machine long enough, every little piece will be broken down and small enough to do whatever you want with it.

Let it churn
You don’t have to be on a dairy farm to make your own butter. You can actually put all the ingredients into the food processor and let it turn the cream and salt into spreadable goodness you can keep for a while.

Fill up your favorite sweet treats with something crunchy
You can use the S-blade or one of the smaller slicers to break up nuts of all kinds and put them in whatever you’re baking or making. No matter what the recipe is, you have control over how big the fragments are and you don’t need to use a hammer to do it.

grate cheeseGrate it up
I use this for cheese more than anything else. You can put a whole block of cheese in with the grater blade and stand back while it does all the work. Save your upper arm strength for something else.

Save yourself the shredding
If you’re making pulled pork or some kind of meat that has to be shredded, your food processor can do it without even thinking.

Make some dough
Many food processors will actually knead dough for you by using a dough blade. It’s not as scary as it sounds and it won’t abuse your future delicious bread or similar concoction. You can let the machine do all the kneading and save your arm strength for something much more interesting – like spreading a thick layer of butter onto the bread when it comes out of the oven.

Honor the French with their fried goods
With the right blade, you can turn a peeled potato into fries in almost no time. You can make them as thick or thin as you want, and then you just have to put them on a pan, pop them in the oven, and bake them until they’re crispy. And golden. And delicious. And awesome.

These are just a few of the myriad of ways your food processor can assist you in creating delicious goodness. Don’t waste any time once you have yours. Every second stands between you and amazing delicious food. Yummers!
